Rocco Reitz is a hot stock in German football. But he is no longer available privately – he has gotten engaged.
Frankfurt am Main – He has one foot in the door with national coach Julian Nagelsmann, and he now has a ring on his finger: What more could you want? Bundesliga star Rocco Reitz is engaged. The Gladbach professional announced the breaking news on Instagram with a photo of a cake with the inscription “Ti amo” (Italian for “I love you”).
His sweetheart can be seen in another snapshot – and the ears of real Bundesliga connoisseurs should ring a bell when they hear her name. Reitz’s fiancée is Laura Pflipsen, the daughter of Bundesliga and Gladbach legend Karlheinz Pflipsen.

He played 197 games for the Fohlen and was part of the team that brought the last title to Gladbach with the DFB Cup in 1995. Now his daughter wants to tie the knot with a current Borussia professional who also has what it takes to become a Gladbach icon himself.
After all, Reitz has been playing in Gladbach since he was a child and loves the club. Laura’s dad Karlheinz has long since given his blessing: “Laura and Rocco already know each other from their school days together. Now that I’ve gotten to know him better, my daughter can also be a professional soccer player,” he said in December 2023.

Of course, Reitz can get valuable football advice from his loved one’s father. “Every now and then, when it comes up, we talk about him and Borussia in general. But he’s doing it so well at the moment that I don’t need to give him any advice. But he knows that he can talk to me about anything at any time,” assured Karlheinz Pflipsen.
By the way, Reitz made the proposal in Rome – and the pictures show: he’s just as good at romance as he is at kicking a ball. Before the European Championships, national coach Julian Nagelsmann invited him to the DFB training camp, where he was able to gain important experience for a future career in the national team.
Things aren’t going quite smoothly for the 22-year-old in the current Bundesliga season; he isn’t always part of the regular staff under coach Seoane. Which he can certainly cope with due to his private happiness. (epp)
