Football referees in Tunisia refuse to end the strike

The referees’ strike crisis in Tunisia has witnessed new developments over the past hours, in light of the insistence of those concerned not to officiate matches until their late payments are received.

The Tunisian Football Federation explained in Official statement He posted on his official page on the social networking site “Facebook” that the governing body is making every effort to provide the referees’ dues, despite the devastating financial crisis.

The local federation called on the referees to manage tomorrow’s matches normally to avoid incurring more financial burdens on the second-tier clubs.

On the other hand, the referees responded with an official statement, in which they confirmed their adherence to their position and the continuation of the strike against match management until the dues crisis is finally ended.

The statement confirmed the continuation of the referees’ strike and their absence to officiate Sunday’s matches in the first round of the Second Professional League, and they indicated that this position comes in defense of the referees’ rights and gains until solutions to these crises are found.

The statement added that the male and female referees understand the clubs’ situation, and that attempts were made to reach an appropriate solution, but that was not possible, due to the lack of desire to sit at the dialogue table, which the referees considered humiliation and contempt, as the statement described.

It is mentioned that Tunisian Union A few days ago, the Football Association had announced the new formation of the arbitration department, led by Murad Al-Damai, succeeding Naji Al-Juwaini, who submitted his resignation.
