As indicated in the call of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports, this Thursday, October 16, the members of the jury met to choose the winners of the 2024 State Sports Award, resulting in the winners as athletes, Luis Mario Nájera Vleeschower , Rubí Aguilar Montejo and María Fernanda Cruz Bolon; In the coach category, Quintin Gerardo Vázquez López and Luis Alberto Damas Martínez were elected.

The Director of Sports Development of the Sports Institute itself, Wendy Rubí López Cantoral, representing the general director, Tania Robles, accompanied the members of the jury in announcing the winners of the PED 2024, who for more than For two hours they analyzed the proposals of the 20 registered among athletes, coaches and sports promotion.

In addition to congratulating all the candidates, he also thanked and congratulated the members of the jury for taking on such an important task of choosing the best in sports in Chiapas, reiterating that all those registered are already winners for representing Chiapas and Mexico in their respective disciplines.

For her part, the president of the jury, Mónica Torres Amarilla, was in charge of reading the minutes signed by all the members, announcing them in the following order, in the category of athletes: Luis Mario Nájera Vleeschower (Para taekwondo), Rubí Aguilar Montejo ( Associated Fights), María Fernanda Cruz Bolon (Judo); in the coaching category, Quintín Gerardo Vázquez López (Associated Fights) and Luis Alberto Damas Martínez, (Judo).

Standing out in this election is Luis Mario Nájera Vleeschower, in adapted sports, who has won this award for the second time (2022 and 2024), although according to this year’s call, he will not be able to receive the financial award. Among his achievements, the winner of the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games stands out; as well as various tournaments such as Pan American, Grand Prix and World Cups.

Regarding the achievements obtained by Rubí Aguilar Montejo (Associated Luchas), the gold medal at the Conade 2024 Nationals, Pan American Wrestling Championship, San Salvador, Salvador stands out; National Championship 2nd Qualifier for the National Team in Oaxaca, Oaxaca; and National Tournament 1st Grand Prix Qualifier “All Stars” in the Mexican Olympic Committee (CDOM).

Another winner in the category of athlete is María Fernanda Cruz Bolon, who was elected for the second time this award (2022 and 2024), after having obtained the three-time Conade 2024 National Championship, National Team, double Pan American 2024 medalist, World Cup winner and currently only Chiapas athlete qualified for the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción 2025.

In the category of coaches, the coach, Quintín Gerardo Vázquez López, stands out, who has won this recognition for the fourth time (2008, 2017, 2019 and 2024), he was chosen for obtaining his achievements with three gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the Conade 2024 Nationals held in Guadalajara, Jalisco. As well as a gold medal and two silver medals at the 2024 Pan American U15 Championship, San Salvador, Salvador.

The list of winners closes with the coach, Luis Alberto Damas Martínez de Judo, after obtaining two medals at the Conade 2024 Nationals that took place in Campeche, Campeche; two Pan American Medals, participation in international and world tournaments; as well as having qualified the athlete María Fernanda Cruz Bolon for the next Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.

It is worth mentioning that the 110 thousand pesos will be distributed, as indicated in the call between two winners, because Luis Mario Nájera, María Fernanda Cruz Bolon and Quintín Gerardo Vázquez were already recipients of said recognition, with the delivery date pending. from the hands of the state governor, Rutilio Escandón Cadenas.
