Nicole Fossa Huergo wins the women’s singles in the fifth of the six ITF Combined organized on the courts of the Forte Village of Santa Margherita di Pula by the Forte Village Sports Academy with the support of the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Sardinia Region (300,000 euro prize money total). In an all-Italian final, the 29-year-old from Isernia beat qualified Federica Urgesi 6-0, 3-6, 6-2. Excellent week also for the 19 year old from Fano, who also reached the doubles final, playing a total of eleven matches (nine won).
Meanwhile, the sixth and final tournament of the Forte Village Sports Academy autumn circuit has begun. Five Sardinian tennis players were involved, with one victory, that of Niccolò Dessì (Tc Cagliari), who took advantage of the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Andrii Bilita, when he was already at 6-2, 5-0. Defeats for the Tc Cagliari standard bearers Edoardo Pilia (fighting on equal terms with the Chilean Benjamin Torrealba 6-3, 1-6, 10-8) and Nicola Porcu (7-6, 6-1 from Pietro Marino), for Edoardo Carcangiu of Tc 70 Oristano (doubles 6-2 by Christian Fellin) and for Paolo Emilio Cossu Floris (6-3, 6-1 by Gabriele Maria Noce). Victory for Giacomo Crisostomo, registered for Tc Cagliari, 6-2, 3-6, 10-2 over Jacopo Antonelli.
