Gan: change of command at the fire and rescue center

After 36 years of service at the Gan fire and rescue center, including fourteen as head of the center, Captain Jacky Migen has asserted his rights to a well-deserved retirement.

He handed over command of the center to Lieutenant David Sabouraud during a public ceremony held in the presence of numerous personalities: Vincent Bernard-Lafoucrière, sub-prefect and chief of staff to the prefect of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, André Arribes, president of the SDIS 64, Francis Pées, mayor of Gan, deputy David Habib, departmental councilors Valérie Cambon and Jean Arriubergé, Jean-Pierre Lanne, mayor of Bosdarros, senior colonel Alain Boulou, departmental fire chief, captain Charles Albuquerque, president of the Departmental Union of Firefighters (UDSP 64).

In front of a large crowd of friends and elders, and after the officials had reviewed the troops of sappers and gendarmes, Captain Migen transmitted the flag to his successor to signify the assumption of command of the rescue center .

A career full of events

The long career of Jacky Migen, volunteer firefighter from 1988 then lieutenant head of center in 2010, was punctuated by events: convoys of equipment to Romania, Ukraine and Portugal, reinforcement against forest fires in the South -East of France and in Gironde, help for climatic events in the South-East, to which is added involvement in local associative life.

This ceremony with its share of tribute, recognition and solemnity tinged with emotion ended with a moment of conviviality shared at home for all.
