On Friday, the 22-year-old’s collar burst. In the few hours since her defeat against Aoi Ito (20), numerous messages on the verge of legality and completely beyond good taste had accumulated in the Hamburger’s mailbox.

Lys finally gave her followers on Instagram a deep look into the abyss with a disturbing collage. Users of the platform hurled the worst insults at her in abundance, some even threatened her with death.

“Hate, threats and injuries should never be a part of any sport,” wrote the 105th in the world rankings. “It breaks my heart that this has become so normal and I will never remain silent about it.”

“Nobody deserves to be treated like that – on and off the court,” the tennis ace continued.

The online trolls didn’t even hide in the shadow of anonymity during their tirades; many used their real names to rant. The athlete used this to expose a hater.

In another screenshot, Lys published a hate message from a user with the name “Yim” and apparently tagged the culprit’s partner.

“Why is your husband insulting a 22-year-old on Instagram?” asked the Ukrainian-born tennis hope bluntly. However, it is not known whether the woman responded.

After all, the young athlete didn’t only receive disgusting outpourings; she also received encouraging words after her bankruptcy.

“You are the reason why I have so much fun in life,” Lys thanked her true fans in another post.
