Thanks to a brace from star striker Robert Lewandowski, Hansi Flick celebrated a brilliant 4-0 (0-0) win at Real Madrid in his first Clásico as FC Barcelona coach. The former FC Bayern attacker scored in the 54th and 56th minutes for Barça, who as leaders of the Primera División are now six points ahead of the Spanish football record champions.
For the 36-year-old Lewandowski it was the first goals in a league game against Real. Youngster Lamine Yamal (77th) and Rafinha (84th) made the debacle perfect for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Flick positioned his team perfectly, especially in the second half, Barca were overwhelmingly superior and earned the win with great offensive football.
Lewandowski shocked the Royal fans within 141 seconds after the break. First he scored low from the edge of the penalty area to take the lead after Real’s Ferland Mendy had canceled out a possible offside position. The Polish international striker then perfectly headed a cross from Alejandro Balde to make it 2-0.
