Los Mochis, Sin.- In the midst of a festive and energetic atmosphere, this Friday afternoon the opening ceremony of the ninth edition of the Pioneros 2024 Student Basketball League was held.
The Multiple Use Center was the setting where, before participating teams, municipal sports authorities and representatives of educational institutions, Armando Villarreal Ibarra, president of the Ahomeense professional basketball team, gave a welcome message:
“To you, parents, I also congratulate you for the enthusiasm you bring to all of this, and especially to the protagonists of this Student League: the boys and girls, and ask them to have fun in this competition, to participate in a fair play, and that they develop more and more in sport. Pioneros will always be committed to promoting this basketball activity, which fortunately, in the municipality, is growing and growing. Finally, welcome everyone and enjoy this League,” he expressed.
Marco Galaviz, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, made the opening statement:
“Thank you for giving these young people and children the opportunity to practice this sport. I want to congratulate all those who make up this League, the truth is that without the efforts of the institutions, the schools, the coaches, and especially the efforts made by the parents, this would not be possible. Thank you for giving them that support, and for instilling in them to follow the path of good, the path of sport, to be better people. We thank Pioneros for the support it provides to this discipline, it is the main sponsor, and we recognize it, in addition to this beautiful setting: the cathedral of Ahomeense professional basketball,” he indicated, later declaring the event inaugurated.
Francisco Tirado, president of the municipal basketball committee, took the oath, while Jaime Leyva Arredondo, sports director of the Club, thanked the educational institutions for their trust and support in carrying out this ninth edition of the League.
At the end of the formal ceremony, each of the members of the presidium took a free throw, to later take the official photograph with the players present, who, with great enthusiasm, shouted “Mucho Mochis”, thus formally beginning the Pioneer Student League. 2024.
It should be noted that the educational institutions that have action in the League are Instituto Piaget, Instituto Andes, Colegio Mochis, Colegio Nueva Senda, CEN, Colegio Enrique Arreguín and Colegio Americano, totaling 59 teams in the different categories.
