Handball: French international Dylan Nahi victim of racist insults in Poland

Considered one of the hottest rivalries in Europe, the match between Plock and Kielce degenerated this Sunday in Poland. If the first team mentioned won (29-25) in its room, the athlete had little importance at the end of the meeting.

Played in a toxic atmosphere, symbolized by the numerous clashes between the players of the two teams, the game was especially marked by the opposition between the two coaches, close to coming to blows. Kielce’s Spanish coach, Talant Dujshebaev, even accused his compatriot Javier Sabaté, the opposing technician, of racism against him. “Plock’s coach called me a ‘f***ing Chinese b****’. Racism is unacceptable. I want to fight against that,” the former handball star told L’Équipe.

“This is the first time this has happened to me”

The Kyrgyz native also targeted the local public, who allegedly took on French international Dylan Nahi. “At the end of the first period, the public chanted ”F***** de noir” against him. My players, I love them like my sons, I don’t care about their skin color. Today (Sunday) was a very serious attack, against us, against the club and the country. »

Still with L’Équipe, the Blues winger (61 caps), trained at PSG, confided his disappointment with the behavior of Plock supporters. “At one point, I felt that there was noise against me, but I didn’t know what people were saying,” he reacted. At the end of the match, my teammates and my coach explained to me that those were racist insults. On a field, it’s the first time that this has happened to me. I find that stupid. These are things that don’t have to be on a handball court and in sport in general. »

In the evening, the Kielce club issued a press release denouncing the acts of racism that occurred during the meeting, which their opponents have not yet done. Javier Sabaté, for his part, accused Dujshebaev of spitting on him during the match.
