Validation of the arrest and application of the electronic bracelet. This was the decision of the investigating judge Rosaria Dello Stritto towards RL, a 44-year-old from Santa Maria Capua Vetere who was arrested for stalking by the carabinieri of the Casagiove station and the CIO of the 10th Campania Regiment.
The military blocked the 44-year-old, assisted by the lawyer Giuseppe De Lucia, after intercepting him in Via Appia. The man had just rammed his ex-partner’s car together with her new boyfriend and after having rear-ended them he threatened them with a 62 centimeter baseball bat.
The persecutory acts reported by the victim, a 28-year-old Ukrainian, date back to September 2023 when RL, not accepting the end of their relationship, began to persecute and harass her as well as threatening her and her new partner with death. On one occasion he also hit her with slaps and grabbed her by the wrists and took her next to his car trying to run her over. Even on the evening of the arrest (25 October) he would have been waiting for her at the exit of the place where the woman worked as a waitress in via Fosse Ardeatine in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. However, the woman saw him and alerted her partner and the police. Once in the car he couldn’t imagine the chase and ramming. The police found the baseball bat and a 60 centimeter galvanized metal pipe hidden under the driver’s side mat that he would have used against the 28-year-old. For these reasons he was held responsible for illegal possession of a weapon.
Once the house arrest measure was applied, the investigating judge decided to use the electronic bracelet as well as the prohibition on approach.
