In Ercolano the carabinieri intervened in via Sacerdote Benedetto Cozzolino. The military, as reported, intervened for a road accident. The protagonist of the accident was a 43-year-old local man with no criminal record.
The man – aboard a Fiat Doblò – tested positive for alcohol with a blood alcohol level of 2.09 g/L. The carabinieri searched the vehicle and found and seized 5 bottles of an anti-addictive drug subject to narcotics legislation (Presidential Decree 309/1990 sections B and E).
A baseball bat was also found in the vehicle. The search was then extended to the 43-year-old’s home and there the military found another 66 bottles of the drug with the active ingredient sodium oxybate and of these 21 were empty.
Several other anxiolytic drugs were also seized. Not just drugs but also drugs. In the man’s room the police found several doses of narcotic marijuana and hashish. Finally, 60 packs of contraband cigarettes were seized.
The man was arrested and will have to answer for possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing, driving while intoxicated, illegal possession of weapons and cigarette smuggling
