Equal clash throughout the first set, the most balanced of the entire contest along with the fourth round. The Sorianos took the initiative in the quarter until 11-12. If in the early stages there was more ease in the local game, little by little the Aragonese team, led by Urchevich and Hristokov, changed the sensations. It was difficult for the light blue team to score against the orange defensive commitment, which would end up ahead on the scoreboard 23-25.
The second set was a totally different match. Alberto Toribio‘s team took the initiative and dismantled the approach of Fabián Muraco, who tried to stop the game on two occasions to channel the situation without success. The changes did not bear fruit either, while Cunha had a feast of play and points in Grupo Herce Soria (25-17).
With the score tied, in the third act the game resumed as if it were an extension of the previous set (7-2). But this time Muraco did find a reaction from his men, largely with the contribution of four consecutive errors by the locals that forced Toribio’s timeout. With 11-11, a totally different scenario was entered, where the Sorians played their cards better in the final stretch to impose their law (25-22).
In the fourth quarter, both teams had the initiative on the scoreboard for many minutes, without anyone managing to unbalance the duel. Of course, the duel entered the final stretch of the set with small orange advantages and better feelings. Once again, success in the key points was going to be decisive. And on this occasion it was the Aragonese who were right, forcing the tie break.
To finish, the best version of Soriano broke out again. Toribio’s team tied up their rival and took a brilliant start (5-1). And this time, the Los Pajaritos team was not going to complicate their lives, on the contrary, they would be decisive, closing the duel with a resounding 15-7.
