Highest score of the day for Alina Diwo from TSV Schloß Neuhaus

In 2025, KTV Alt Ravensberg will be the only club that is represented with a team in every league of the Westphalian Gymnastics Association. “What a success,” cheered Kirsi Rohmeier on behalf of the entire coaching team after the season finale of the Oberliga, Verbandsliga and Landesliga in Ochtrup.

Bad luck with injuries, absences due to illness and falls on the balance beam were offset by “an incredible amount of fighting spirit, team unity and exciting exercises”. The reward was that all four teams of the association formed by gymnasts from Spvg. Steinhagen, TSG Rheda and TSV 1887 Schloß Neuhaus stayed in the class.

Oberliga

The “first” from KTV Alt Ravensberg had earned a comfortable cushion of points in the first competitions. Since Carina Delling was injured, Marion Voß was promoted from the association league team. She collected secure points on the balance beam. Katelyn and Annika Müller impressed on the uneven bars, while Madeleine Güth scored the most points for the team on vault and floor. Fifth place in the daily ranking resulted in fourth place overall.

Association league

KTV Alt Ravensberg II had to hope for mistakes from the competition in order to still have a chance in the relegation battle. The competition started with a moment of shock: Sinja Struve, sitting on a bench on the balance beam, slipped her foot and consequently her entire right side along the balance beam during the push-through jump. “With the bruised ribs and abrasions, many gymnasts would probably have stopped the competition,” said Kirsi Rohmeier. Not so Sinja Struve. She gritted her teeth and performed convincing exercises on the following three pieces of equipment. Like the Steinhagen native, Viktoria Lizo and Hannah Jürgenhake shone on the floor with great choreographies. Maike Landwehr collected the most points on the jump. After three safe uneven bars exercises, Mariella Lüpfert tried a handstand on the free rim. She was just a few centimeters short of success. The tremors before the award ceremony were great. In the day’s results, not even half a point separated Schalksmühler TV (fifth with 143.55 points) from KTV Alt Ravensberg II (fourth with 144.00), which secured fifth place in the overall ranking. “Luck was really on our side,” said Kirsi Rohmeier with relief.

National league 1 and 2

Starting gymnast Charlotte Böttcher caused a stir: the youngest in the competition impressed with her difficult but safe balance beam exercise and achieved the highest score of the day on this apparatus. On the ground, Jette Dammeier’s exercise was a feast for the eyes and earned the team a lot of points. Charlotte Böttcher, Nadine Lintel and Emilia Quest, who stood in for the injured Olivia Golab, were also convincing. After successful performances on vault and uneven bars, the gymnasts from KTV Alt Ravensberg III jumped for joy at the award ceremony: fourth place meant fifth place in the overall ranking of the State League 1.

The fourth team from KTV Alt Ravensberg faced a mammoth task. Starting sixth, she had to reach at least third place in Ochrup to stay in the league. At the start on the beam, the team around Helen Müller and Alina Diwo delivered a safe but not outstanding result. It was different on the ground: Here Diwo produced “a real firework display of acrobatics and lively choreography” (Rohmeier) and achieved the highest score of the day with 13.95 points. Lara-Marie Schimmel, Lilly-Marie Damm, Johanna Ewers and Nina Seipolt also ensured that KTV was the best team on this device. After safe jumps, Mette Althof followed up with a cleanly executed uneven bars exercise. The gymnasts from KTV Alt Ravensberg IV rewarded themselves with third place and thus managed to move up to fifth place in the table.

The KTV coaching team was also very jubilant: Petra and Andrea Beckstett, Martina Ozimek, Claudia Peterk, Mark Graff and Kirsi Rohmeier will work on many new elements with their protégés during the non-competition period.
