Historic Victory: Women’s Futsal Team Overcomes Three-Time European Champions in Stunning Private Match

This Thursday, the women’s futsal team beat Spain, the three-time European champion, in a friendly match held at the Rio Maior Poliesportivo Gymnasium.

Luís Conceição‘s team entered the match at full steam and took a three-goal lead into the break. Carolina Pedreira (2′) opened the scoring, Lídia Moreira (7’) and Kika (12′) increased the Seleção’s advantage. Spain still decreased at the beginning of the second half, with Vane Sotelo, but Portugal managed to manage the result until the end of the game.

The two teams will face each other again on Saturday (6:30 pm), again in the city of Ribatejo, in another duel that aims to prepare the qualifying phase for the first women’s World Cup, which will be held between November 21st and December 7th, in Philippines.
