Homophobic chants at the Parc des Princes: the LFP condemns and PSG should be sanctioned

PSG should be sanctioned. This Saturday, during the victory won by the Parisian club at home against Strasbourg (4-2) as part of the 8th day of Ligue 1, homophobic chants came down from the stands of the Parc des Princes, and more particularly from the corner Auteuil. One week before the clasico between OM and Paris, scheduled for Sunday October 27 (8:45 p.m.), the ultras have decided to launch hostilities.

As soon as the match against the Alsatians ended, the latter sang a song often repeated in the Parisian enclosure: “the Marseillais are pe…, sons of f… enc…, and by the c… we will hang, yes but c… they don’t have any. »

Although the Park announcer intervened twice to make him stop, this did not happen, and the logorrhea started again after the second announcement on the microphone. The matter should not stop there, since according to information from RMC Sport revealed this Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain risks being sanctioned by the LFP disciplinary committee, at least via a fine to pay, at worst , in camera with or without suspension. The body will not, however, make a decision immediately, since it will first listen in detail to the content of the words of the song but also the duration of the latter.

“Unacceptable chants” according to the LFP

Precedents exist in France, such as the sanction received by Montpellier following insulting chants towards referee Stéphanie Frappart. The club managed by Laurent Nicollin had paid a fine of 10,000 euros. PSG should be scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 30, the date of the next meeting of the disciplinary committee.

For its part, the League reacted this Sunday morning via a press release, announcing “to condemn the homophobic chants heard” during PSG-Strasbourg. “These new discriminatory chants from Paris Saint-Germain supporters are unacceptable, even though all of professional football has been working for several seasons to ban homophobic behavior and chants from stadiums. In three seasons, 93 anti-discrimination workshops were organized in 33 clubs. Following these new homophobic chants, the LFP disciplinary committee will take up the elements,” confirms the body.
