How German and Tatar’s Stellar Performance Led Utah to a Stunning 15 Goals in Ottawa

NEWARK – New Jersey hockey players won Monday’s NHL game against Utah 3:0. Slovakian defender Šimon Nemec played 18:25 minutes in the Devils jersey and scored one plus point. His compatriot Tomáš Tatar did not enter the statistics and spent 11:24 minutes on the ice.

“Devils” recorded their fourth victory in the fifth meeting. The players of Utah lost the first duel in the new year. The German recorded his highest time on the ice this season and sent one shot at the opponent’s goal. Among the backs, only Dougie Hamilton (23:06 min) was more exhausted than him.

Casey also scored one assist, in the 29th minute after his shot, Stefan Noesen increased the difference to two goals, Hischier sealed the victory for the home team with a numerical advantage. Goaltender Jake Allen recorded the 25th clean sheet of his pro league career, stopping all 20 Utah shots.

Up to 15 goals were scored in Ottawa

The fifteen-goal shootout was seen by spectators in Ottawa. It ended better for the home team, who defeated Los Angeles 8:7 after overtime. The Senators succeeded despite trailing for most of the game. In the seven-goal middle part, Ottawa managed to equalize first at 4:4, then at 5:5, and they were able to respond to the sixth goal of the “Kings” in the third act.

Florida succeeded in Boston

The Stanley Cup defenders from Florida made up for two losses in a row. They won 4:3 on the ice of Boston, thanks to two goals scored by Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell. The Bruins led the fourth attack, in which center Mark Kastelic scored three points with assists, John Beecher scored 1+1 and Cole Koepke scored an assist.
