The Dodgers celebrated one more title than ever Big Leagues. The Californian team reached the “Fall Classic” for the fourth time, since 2017, after defeating 4-1 to the New York Yankees in a duel that pitted two of the most popular franchises in the world baseball United States.
With this victory, LAD confirmed themselves as the sixth most successful team in the entire MLB. Since its founding in 1883have played the World Series in 20 occasions, winning the trophy in ocho opportunities.
The life of the Dodgers began in Brooklyndistrict in which they were born and continued until 1958. During their years in that city, they played seven Series, winning only one, against their sporting nemesis: the Yankees. The Dodgers-Yankees confrontation continued even after the move to Los Angeles, clashing in another five head-to-head. The Angelenos achieved three additional crowns, won in 1963 (4-0), 1981 (4-2) y 2024 (4-1). Meanwhile, those from the Bronx won in 1977 y 1978.
Aside from the Olympic laps against the NYY, the Dodgers added four other rings. In 1959, they defeated the White Sox from Chicago; in 1965, at Minnesota Twins; in 1988, at Athletics de Oakland; and in 2020, at Tampa Bay Rays.
