Premier League
Five goals.
That’s how many goals Man United scored against Premier League team Leicester in Ruud van Nistelrooy‘s first game as manager.
Something Erik ten Hag never managed.

It was a goal-rich story when Manchester United faced Premier League side Leicester City in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The final score was 5-2 in Man United’s favour, after goals from, among others, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro. This was also interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first (and last?) game as Manchester United manager after Erik ten Hag was sacked on Monday.
In fact, van Nistelrooy needed just one game to break Erik ten Hag’s goalscoring record with Manchester United. During ten Hag’s two years at the club, “The Red Devils” never managed to score more than four goals in one game against a Premier League team.
van Nistelrooy gave, after the match, his view on the future at Manchester United.
– I came here to help the club as an assistant coach. Now I am in this role and I help as long as needed. In the future, in whatever role, I am here to help the club further to build towards the future. That’s what I’m here for, said the club icon according to journalist Rich Fay.
