Hunters from Valverde del Camino cover two old wells to prevent accidents for mountain users

A group of seven rehaleros belonging to the Montero Galvaos Club, and members of the Society of Hunters of Valverde del CaminoYesterday, they located and covered two old mining prospecting wells to avoid accidents to people and animals that are users of the public forest.

The two wells were located in the stain known as “Pandurovery close to the Odiel River, in the municipality of Valverde del Camino. One of the wells had a diameter of 2 meters and an estimated depth of seven meters, while the other had a diameter of 2.5 meters and an estimated depth of 14.

“With this size and depth, and with the dense vegetation in the area, these old wells are a perfect trap into which pets and animals, and even people, can fall, seriously putting their physical integrity at risk and being difficult to locate,” he explains. Luis Cejudo, one of the seven rehaleros from the Montero Los Galvaos Club who yesterday carried out this work for the protection and safety of people and animals who make use of the public forest.

To cover these wells, corrugated sheaves and electrowelded mesh metal pieces approximately 3 meters long and 1.5 meters high, material that was supplied by the Society of Hunters of Valverde del Camino, and that the rehaleros had to carry by hand from the road for a kilometer.

In addition to the two wells, The hunters reviewed more than two kilometers of security fencing, placed a few years ago also by the Valverde del Camino Hunting Society, which borders the A-496 road, including the review of four gates, closing of gates and placement of poles at the bottom.
