If Jorge Martin Fails to Become MotoGP World Champion Again…

Phillip Island

Pramac racer Jorge Martin in pole position in the competition for the world title MotoGP 2024. What if Martin fails to become champion again?

For the second time in a row, Jorge Martin is competing closely with Francesco Bagnaia. In the 2023 season, the Spanish racer was overtaken by his rival in the final series so he had to settle for the runner-up title with a difference of 39 points.

However, the situation is different in the 2024 season. Jorge Martin is more consistent after finishing in the top two seven times in the last eight series, and has only retired twice throughout the season. Meanwhile, Bagnaia won two wins in the same period but failed to finish twice.

As a result, Martinator still at the top of the MotoGP standings with a 20 point advantage over Pecco Bagnaia. The competition between Jorge Martin and Bagnaia will be determined in the crucial series ahead, which starts in Buriram, Thailand this weekend.

So what will happen to Jorge Martin if he fails to beat Bagnaia? Martin replied: “Winning the world title will not change my life… This has happened to me, and I am not dead,” he said as reported by Corsedimoto.

Jorge Martin admits that he and Francesco Bagnaia are not friends. Martin believes that Bagnaia has an advantage, in the form of calm when facing intense pressure.

“Friend? Not at all because we don’t have that relationship. He’s more calm and not impulsive. At certain moments it’s good because he knows how to stay calm, attack later,” he continued.

“Moments like that are a little more difficult for me because I’m more impulsive. Maybe I’ll go all out and pay for it at the end of the race. I think he’s superior in this aspect, also because he’s a two-time MotoGP world champion, and this also counts, ” Jorge Martin added.
