IFK Gothenburg Selection Committee Update: Insights on Our City’s Beloved Team

During the month of September, IFK Göteborg‘s election committee entered the next phase, i.e. phase 2 according to the annual cycle that was previously communicated (see picture below).
As before, we welcome members of the association to submit nominations.

Since the annual meeting, the nomination committee has worked according to the annual cycle. This means that during the late summer we intensified our work to evaluate the board’s work in leading and creating value for IFK Gothenburg. We have and conduct continuous interviews with all board members, not just those up for re-election, and have met or will meet a large selection of employees at various levels in the organization and a large number of other members of the association.

The purpose of this is that the election committee has a comprehensive picture of the business and can act and prioritize accordingly.
IFK Göteborg has been working since the spring according to a new business plan. It shows the objectives of the business, as well as the strategies chosen to achieve the objectives. Our task is to ensure that the board elected in 2025 has the right conditions to work according to the long-term strategies of the business, but also the capacity to analyze what has gone wrong in the near term and act accordingly.

The election committee works on behalf of the members and wants to ensure that the work is well anchored. Therefore, we want to meet a variety of stakeholders in and around IFK Gothenburg.
The selection committee does outreach and strives to follow up on received nominations in the order in which they are received. During the autumn, we regularly meet candidates who, in the short or long term, have qualities we believe can add edge and courage to IFK Göteborg’s strategic work. We work with clear requirements specifications and are keen to convey that hard and solid work will be required of the people who are trusted to be part of the board.

Individual members are always welcome to contact us to discuss our work or submit proposals for board nominations. The contact with the members is crucial for our mission, with your thoughts and suggestions we are given better conditions to appoint and form next year’s board at IFK Gothenburg. All conversations are confidential.
