On October 13, the 2024 China Women’s 3WL Basketball League (referred to as “3WL”) finals ended at the Longwangtou 3×3 Basketball Park in Pingtan, Fujian. Shanghai Pudong Development Bank defeated Sichuan Yuanda Melo, which had won two consecutive championships, in the final, winning the 3WL championship for the first time in team history. Pan Xuemei was elected the finals MVP. Sichuan Yuanda Miller won the runner-up, and Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank won the third runner-up.
The final was between Sichuan Yuanda Miller and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. After the start, the scores of both sides increased alternately. Before the first timeout, the Shanghai team took a slight lead 8-7. After the timeout, Pan Xuemei continued her hot touch and scored another long shot. However, as Gao Song scored from the basket and Zhang Wanglai succeeded in the long shot, the Sichuan team tied the score at 10. Subsequently, Pan Xuemei and Li Yingyun fired from the outside, Liu Xueyuan scored from the inside, and the Shanghai team once took the lead 16-13. The Sichuan team caught up and Gao Song and Jia Saiqi hit a 4-1 spurt and successfully equalized the score. With 1 minute and 30 seconds left in the game, the two sides were tied at 18. Liu Xueyuan and Gao Song each scored a point for their team under the basket, and both sides reached the match point. At the critical moment, Li Yingyun hit a long shot to kill the game. Shanghai Pudong Development Bank narrowly defeated Sichuan Yuanda Melo 21-19 and won the 3WL championship for the first time in team history.
After the game, Li Yingyun said: “I am very excited and happy. It has not been easy along the way. I am very happy to have achieved the original goal.” Talking about the team’s future goals, Liu Xueyuan said: “I am very happy to win. There will definitely be more A bigger goal. More than one championship. We will continue to move forward with the spirit of Shanghai Women’s Basketball Team.”
The Chinese Women’s 3×3 Basketball League is the top domestic 3×3 basketball women’s league jointly sponsored by the Chinese Basketball Association and Shenzhen Basketball Sports (Beijing) Co., Ltd. At this point, after a total of 183 fierce competitions in 6 regular season and playoff games, the 2024 Chinese Women’s 3-person Basketball League has come to an end.
