Ultimately it was sold: the large inflatable sports hall in Almere Poort. The gray colossus was for sale on an online auction site for a long time, but no suitable buyer came forward. Now the sports hall has been sold and is heading to Poland.
A group of Polish workers are busy demolishing the hall. The inner cloth has now been removed from the ceiling and rolled up. Lamps are in the corner with many meters of cable.
The municipality had put the sports hall up for sale for 25,000 euros, but there was no interest for that amount. It turned out to be quite expensive to demolish the hall and rebuild it somewhere else.
Satisfied
Ultimately, the sports hall has now been sold for 13,000 euros. The changing rooms also have a new owner, but they are going to Romania. Auctioneer Laurens Damminga is enthusiastic about the outcome: “It is such a unique item, very large. As a buyer you cannot clearly see what everything will cost. But in the end everyone is satisfied.”
The sports hall was installed in 2019 because the municipality had a shortage of indoor sports space. The inflatable hall is about 11 meters high and was used for sports such as badminton, handball, korfball, indoor hockey and indoor football. The hall was also used for school gym lessons.
A new sports hall has now been built in Nobelhorst, meaning that the gray emergency hall of thirty by fifty meters is no longer necessary.
