In a thriller, the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 7-6 on the road in game five of the MLB finals. This means the series goes 4-1 to the franchise from California. It is the second championship in five years, the eighth overall.

The game doesn’t start well at all, because after three innings it’s already 0:5 from the Dodgers’ perspective. But LA was able to equalize in the fifth inning and then fell behind again. Finally, the decision is made in the penultimate period of the game, where the Dodgers take the lead for the first time and never relinquish it.
According to ESPN, the five-run comeback is the fourth-largest in MLB Finals history.
Dodgers star Frederick Freeman, who hit four home runs in four games in a row, was voted MVP. It is also the first World Series title for superstar Shohei Ohtani. The Japanese signed a ten-year contract in December that is expected to pay him a record-breaking $700 million.
