Iserlohn. The Iserlohn Kangaroos had to play against the Seawolves Academy in the 2nd Barmer Basketball Bundesliga. Both teams struggled with problems.
The start of the Iserlohn season Kangaroos in the 2. Barmer Bundesliga Pro B couldn’t go any better. The team received three wins and one loss Trainer Toni Prostran on Saturday evening the Seawolves Academy from Rostockwho have had a roller coaster season so far and have had to digest two major defeats. It quickly became apparent that the guests weren’t keen on that this time.
The Kangaroos had to struggle with major problems in preparation for the game because, as in the game in Berlin last week, Johannes Konradt, Jordan Iloanya and Malik Diagne were missing due to illness and were only able to start training again on Thursday. Another big setback was the sudden absence of builder Jorge Mejias. The limited squad already caused a small rotation in the away win against the TKS 49ers, which limited the tactical options, especially since individual players also had foul problems in some places.
Kangaroos coach Toni Prostran showed off before the game against the Seawolves but very optimistic after the hard work the players had shown in training. The opponents are young and particularly impressive with their many attempts from the three-point line, where Prostran didn’t want to let anyone get too hot. A lot of pressure should therefore be put on the defense again and the missed chances should be quickly turned into a counterattack.
That worked to a certain extent, because the Rostock team often went to the free throw line, maintained the pressure offensively and thus slowed down the game, even though the guests themselves only came with an eight-man rotation. The big negative point in the game was the referee duo, who caused a lot of interruptions with lots of discussions among themselves and petty whistles. In the end, the energy from the bench and a strong Daniel Zacek (30 points) made the difference Kangarooswho continued their good start to the season with the 91:85 success.
We’ll keep reporting.
