IV Máximo Caturla Trophy, a different regatta for the club

Next Saturday, October 19, the IV Máximo Caturla Trophy will be held, in memory of the man who was President of the RCRA for 16 years.

It is a regatta unlike any other, in which the most important thing is not the result, although competitiveness always exists.

It is a trophy created to remember those who are no longer here, sailing, eating with friends and having a good afternoon with music. To do this, just before departure, an offering of flowers is made while the Salve Marinera plays in memory of loved ones.

For the regatta, it will be a coastal route with some nod to the past, such as the recovery of the mythical butane beacon.

Once at the club, the meal will consist of some Manchego gazpachos, prepared by Tino and Yago, bosuns of the Club in another era, so gastronomic success is the only thing guaranteed.

In the awards ceremony there is also another differential fact, since, in addition to the classic trophies for the different categories, a special trophy is awarded to the winner of the joint general classification. A TREPAT compass owned by the aforementioned President that he used in the 70s, which although of little economic value, has a very important sentimental value for the family. This trophy will be awarded to the champion of three consecutive or five alternate editions. Only Tanit IV and DAX are on the list at the moment.

The day will end with the party and live music from Situación Límite. In short, a different regatta for a Trophy to “make a club”.
