[위키트리 광주전남취재본부 노해섭 기자] Athletes from the archery, judo, and soft tennis teams of the Suncheon City Hall (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) Workplace Athletics Department participated in the 105th National Sports Festival and achieved the feat of winning three gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.
The 105th National Sports Festival was hosted by the Korea Sports Council in Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do from the 11th to the 17th, and over 30,000 people, including athletes and officials, participated.
On the 14th, in the individual competition of the judo team, Kim Ji-jeong and Park Da-sol won gold medals in the under-70kg category, and Yang Seo-woo won bronze medals in the under-52kg category.
Additionally, the soft tennis team represented Jeonnam and won a silver medal in the team finals on the 16th.
In particular, the archery team, which included Nam Soo-hyun, who won a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal in the individual event at the Paris Olympics, participated as a representative of Jeollanam-do with Lee Eun-kyung and Yoo Si-hyeon, won a gold medal in the team finals, and showed the power of Suncheon City’s sports by achieving three consecutive wins at the National Sports Festival.
Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “I am glad that the sincerity of the players and coaches who train hard every day has led to good results at the 105th National Sports Festival.” He added, “Please do your best not only in the remaining domestic competitions this year but also in the international competitions.”
