Joan Pauner wins the silver to complete the French harvest

3D ARCHERY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – The final day was mixed for France, with only one medal out of three possible. In the compound arch final, Joan Pauner narrowly missed out on gold, but grabbed a third and final charm for the Blues.

This Sunday, the last finals of the world archery championships 3D took place at Wets. Following a successful Saturday, France was already certain of securing a third medal. Already in bronze the day before as a team, Joan Pauner had overcome all the obstacles to give himself a chance to win gold.

The duel promised to be close and tense since the two men had never won such an important title before. This will be felt from start to finish, the two archers passing the ball back and forth with each volley. In this little game, the Swede will prove to be the strongest, capitalizing on a less good volley from the Habs to take a two-point lead. Two small points which will hold until the end, and allow him to win (86-84). Joan Pauner therefore grabs the silver, and offers the tricolor clan its third, and final, medal of the competition.

Indeed, two finals for bronze were also on the program. Unfortunately, success was not there. Sacred as a team the day before, Alicia Baumert bowed in a bare bow to the Italian Rania Bracciniagain for two points (75-73). Still in a bare bow, but masculine, Rémy Albanese made him equal with another Italian, Marco Bruno. But with the decisive arrow, the latter made the difference. Despite a slight touch of bitterness, the results remain generally positive, and embellished by the title obtained by David Jackosn and Alicia Baumert.
