In the practice of our discipline this seems obvious since it is based on clear Principles, Values and Rules.
Important pieces for the development of each individual.
In the last two years I have had the opportunity to collaborate with an institute to carry out a path to support a psycho-educational process for children aged 13 and over in difficulty.
This path was carried out by young people and educators in a so-called neutral ground, “the Dojo“, and all participants wore Judogi.
In short, a new environment for everyone with new dynamics and new perceptions.
According to the educators, it was a beautiful and enriching experience. They were able to observe different dynamics and discover sides or aspects of the kids they didn’t know. Sometimes they were amazed by their reaction and commitment.
These lessons were therefore able to give educators a broader vision of the boy and girl, highlighting strong points to refer to, weak points to support and new elements to develop.
For the kids, practically for everyone, it was a first experience with our discipline. They reacted differently: some of them became passionate and expressed their intention to continue their journey in judo, which I hope.
Through the JUDO you can work in different contexts (JUDO = Path of adaptability) and make an important contribution. The new generations are more vulnerable and I dare say even more fragile, they need points of reference and practices through which they can gain more confidence in themselves and develop healthy relational skills.
Sports in general are certainly an important support and martial arts in particular.
Il JUDO, our discipline, through contact, is one of the few that makes the practitioner interact on an intimate level and is one of the reasons why it is based on “RESPECT”.
I thank you for the trust and opportunity that the management of the Institute and the Educators have given me.
Happy “JUDO” to everyone.
