The training took place not only in the dojo, but also outside in nature while jogging or doing power yoga with the trainers in the sports hall. A visit to the Gossau indoor swimming pool was also on the agenda.
On October 16th to 19th, the young judoka of all ages met at the St. Georg Scout Home in Gossau, which is only a few meters away from the Dojo Gossau. The children and young people were able to settle in there for the night.
Since the camp management consistently demanded that cell phones, computer games and the like be avoided and these were left at home, there were more opportunities for board games, board games and card games and the participants enjoyed being together. In addition to team building, the training focused on fitness and refining the technical basics.
The autumn camp not only offered the opportunity to strengthen the community within the Judo Club St.Gallen_Gossau, but also enabled the young judoka to work intensively on their skills. Guido Ledergerber, who led the camp, was positive about the experience: “The positive feedback from the parents as well as the fun I could clearly feel during the training are evidence of a successful camp. The judoka, the trainers and I were also able to do so go home with beaming and satisfied faces.”
Of course, such a camp can only be carried out with the great commitment of those responsible for the club, a well-rehearsed kitchen team and trainers such as Regine Garcia Boy or technical trainer Guillermo Figueroa from RLZ St.Gallen, who deserve special praise.
The two judokas Damien Engler and Olivia Tangl from the Judo Club St.Gallen_Gossau were able to impressively demonstrate that training with young judokas also enables sporting success during the autumn holidays at the 48th International Lake Constance Championships in Bregenz. Damien Engler won the gold medal in the U12 up to 27kg age group and Olivia Tangl was also able to prevail in the girls U12 up to 40kg age group and was happy about the gold medal.
