Judo, Coral Riviera Trophy: Moldova wins

The 28th edition of the Riviera del Corallo Trophy, an international men’s team competition, was won by Moldova for the fourth consecutive edition. The superiority of the competing athletes was notable, as they won the majority of matches in all 5 weight categories, totaling 231 points with 5 matches won over the two days. The performance of Olympic champion Denis Vieru, judoka for the weight category up to 66 kilograms, who won all the matches held was undisputed.

The final ranking of the 28th Coral Riviera Trophy sees Moldova in first place, Portugal in second place, Italy in third place, Hungary fourth, Spain in fifth place, Poland in sixth place and Spain in seventh Romania.

The second day of competition. The parade of nations, led by the young athletes of the Judo Club Alghero, opened the day of competition in live streaming, with commentary by Fabrizio Marchetti. The energetic and competitive teams gave their best from the first match with spectacular throws and absolute physical prowess. Rankings tied halfway through the morning competition with the teams from Moldova, Italy and Portugal at the top, highlighting the athletes’ determination and superiority. Fight until the last match for first place between the Azzurri and Moldova, while Portugal secured second position with 162 points and 5 matches won.

The Italians in excellent form, under the guidance of Luca Poeta, defended the tricolor with honor and dedication, reaching 181 points with four matches won. Bicorgni Alessandro and Iovine Lorenzo won three out of five matches, four victories out of five for Chiari Nicola in the 81 kg category, Anani Sansei also brought home three victories in the +90 category, while Signorini Enrico and Gallina Mattia brought home three victories for the -90 category.
