JUDO – Doryoku is the best club with 12 medals in the Autonomous Senior

The senior regional championship was held on Sunday in Villares de la Reina, a championship valid to qualify for the sector phase of the Spanish Championship. Doryoku once again led the regional medal table, being the best club in Castilla y León with 12 medals. With this result he improves on the ten medals from last season. On that occasion there were 3 gold medals, while this year there have been five athletes who have risen to the top of the podium. The final results have been the following:

Gold medal for Lucía Álvarez (-57kg), Adriana Cabezudo (-63Kg), Elena Casado (+78Kg), Pepe Ramos (-66Kg) and Marcos Vítores (-81Kg)
Silver medal for Laura Martín (-48Kg) and Luisa Hernández (-63Kg)
Bronze medal for Natalia Delgado (-57 Kg), Noa García (-63 Kg), Héctor Rodríguez (-66 Kg), Álvaro García (-73 Kg) and Marcos Mangas (-81 Kg)

In addition, the brothers Álvaro and Charlie Antón were present at the Galician Federation Absolute Championship. Charlie, despite having obtained direct qualification for the Spanish Championship through the National Ranking, competed in -66 Kg (a category higher than his) taking first place, while Álvaro Antón rose to third place in the box of the same category, achieving a bronze after having a great competition.

In the junior and senior categories of the Spanish championship there is a previous phase called Sector (in this case western sector) where the judokas who obtain their classification through the regional competition compete to achieve a place for the final phase of the highest national championship.

In the next few days we will know those selected for this sector phase that will take place on November 17 in the city of La Coruña. The final phase of the Spanish Absolute Championship will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on November 30.
