The municipal leaders Aldana Smart (Municipal Nº1) and Florencia Fernández (Club Ingeniero Huergo) generated the initiative for the first edition of the Ciudad del Viento Cup, which will take place this Saturday at the Municipal Gymnasium Nº1 of Aristóbulo del Valle and Viamonte, with more of a hundred participants.
“On Saturday we will have the first edition of the Windy City Cup, it is a tournament that we came up with with teacher Florencia Fernández. As leaders of the activity, we wanted to put together a large tournament and from 10 o’clock we will be with the little ones from 5 to 8 years old (pre-promotional) and then all categories and ages in competition,” commented Aldana Smart.
“There will also be the Cup at stake, which will be in mixed team mode, starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be three men and three women per team), with the first edition of the cup at stake,” explained Smart.
At the moment there are more than a hundred registered, from the youngest of 5 years old to the veteran category. “The teams are very varied, teams that have members of different ages. They are well armed; We’ll see how it goes on Saturday. People come from Trelew, Esquel, Caleta Olivia is to be confirmed and the municipal gyms of Comodoro. There are people who after many years return to the activity and are encouraged to compete,” described the municipal leader.
“We hope that in the next editions the organizing gyms will rotate, that all the dojos can organize and have visibility. We will see after Saturday who gets it next year,” Smart said.
