BAt the tournament in Guntramsdorf, the young Wimpassing judoka also won four gold medals.
Guntramsdorf was the venue for the third round of the Berger Junior Cup. 395 young judoka from 30 clubs took part in the U10 to U16 age groups. Among them were the athletes from JC Wimpassing, who were on the podium eleven times.
In the U10 age group, Felix Fischer (-30 kg) marched through to the final and ultimately secured silver. Freya Brunner (-32 kg) had to give up two fights to her opponents, but was also able to win the fight twice and took the bronze medal. Liya Yildirim (-48 kg) gave her opponents no chance and won the gold medal. Eduard Magdalin (-24 kg) and Oliver Rella (-27 kg) narrowly missed the podium with fifth place.
Wimpassinger girls are strong in the U12 and U14
In the U12 category, Magdalena Klöckl (-28 kg) and Skadi Brunner (-36 kg) won the day. Lara Strebinger (also -36 kg) came third. Marlene Lechner (-44 kg) won the silver medal with two wins and one defeat. Among the boys, Gor Hakobyan (-34 kg) took third place in a strong weight class with eleven fighters. Fatih Balikci (-55 kg) reached silver by winning two fights.
In the U14, JC Wimpassing was happy about another gold medal from Ilvie Brunner (-53 kg). Yurik Hakobyan (-55 kg) and Connor Parker (-34 kg) each won the silver medal in their weight class.
