The Stéoruellan judo club offered an introduction to the practice of taiso at the Bernard-Choulot dojo in Trois-Fontaines on Saturday, as part of Pink October.
Based on the fundamentals of judo, this discipline allows for fitness and strengthening of the body for people who enjoy gentle physical activities. The section has 37 licensees to date.
Patrick Mery, the essential sixth dan of the club, and member of the Loiret departmental committee, came with a supply of fuchsia t-shirts, specially printed by the committee for the various events organized this year by the department’s clubs.
The session saw around fifty participants present, where new faces mingled with the usual members. A cardboard box had been placed at the entrance to the room so that participants could deposit their donations.
A supportive marathon runner
The amount collected, supplemented by a contribution from the club, will be given to marathon runner Philippine Robert, who was able to collect many more by running the Paris 2025 marathon with a solidarity bib. She will give the donations collected to the Gustave-Roussy hospital in Villejuif, renowned for being at the forefront of the fight against cancer in Europe.
