Former NFL star Cam Newton finds clear words and outlines possible consequences.

Who should take over the quarterback role in Pittsburgh – Justin Fields or Russell Wilson? This question continues to plague NFL fans and pundits. Now former Panthers star Cam Newton has spoken out on the topic in his podcast “4thand1” and clearly spoke out in favor of Fields.

“I don’t agree with that,” said the 35-year-old, criticizing Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s consideration of betting on Russell Wilson in the upcoming duel against the New York Jets (on Monday from 2:20 a.m. in the ran live ticker). This would simply divide the cabin.

“People are talking. You’ve got a whole bunch of alpha males in the locker room that are going to be like, ‘Man, bro, what the hell is that?'” Newton explained. Fields didn’t do enough to lose his job.

Changing of the guard? Fields sees room for improvement

Since the start of the season, the newcomer has always been used and benefited from the injury of his older competitor. Fields had solid performances with five touchdown passes and just one interception. Wilson himself also raved: “I think Justin did a great job.”

Nevertheless, the ex-Bears player had recently been self-critical: “If I’m honest, I don’t think I played well enough,” said Fields. After six games, the Steelers have four wins and two defeats (the current NFL tables at a glance).
