The striker scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win against Lanús-ARG, this Wednesday (30), in the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana semi-final at the La Fortaleza stadium, in Lanús, in Greater Buenos Aires, in Argentina. The victory guaranteed Raposa in the final of the Copa Sudamericana.
“A moment of great happiness, since I arrived at Cruzeiro I fought for my space. I knew things wouldn’t fall from the sky. I ran after it and today I was crowned with another goal in the South American Championship. Congratulate the team for the delivery, for the race. Now we have an important game, waiting for the result to see who our opponent will be”, he said in an interview after the match.
Kaio Jorge was essential in the last games of the Copa Sudamericana. The number 19 scored both goals for Cruzeiro in the tie against Lanús-ARG. The striker also scored in both matches against Libertad-PAR in the quarter-finals.
The grand final of the Copa Sudamericana will be played on Saturday, November 23, with no set time yet. The title decision will be at the General Pablo Rojas Stadium, in Asunción, Paraguay.
