Only one unbeaten team remains, after seven weeks of matches. The “usual”, the Kansas City Chiefs NFL champions of the last two seasons. Capable of winning even in San Francisco, while Minnesota lost for the first time, with Detroit. Here is the detail of the 12 games played on Sunday, the day will be completed by the double Monday Night Tampa Bay-Baltimore and Arizona-Los Angeles Chargers.

san francisco-kansas city 18-28

It was the rematch of the last Super Bowl. In Santa Clara the Chiefs (6-0 record) reiterate that they are the team to beat, they prevail at Levi’s Stadium by running for 184 yards, scoring 4 touchdowns on the ground, two by Kareem Hunt, then with Pat Mahomes and Mecole Hardman in the 4th period. The defense takes care of the rest, intercepting Brock Purdy three times, Mahomes throws for just 154 yards, Kravis Kelce receives for just 17 yards, Smith-Schuster gets hurt (muscle problem), yet they always win, they always find a way. The 49ers slip to 3-4 in record, the only good news is the return of Ricky Pearsall, a freshman receiver who was shot in the chest by a robber 50 days ago. However, Shanahan’s attack remains unrecognizable and loses Brandon Aiyuk, injured in his right knee.

MINNESOTA-DETROIT 29-31

A 44-yard kick by freshman Jake Bates with 15″ left allows the Lions (5-1) to win at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Detroit demonstrates the calm of the strong after coming back from 28-17 ahead at the end of the 3rd quarter to go behind with 5’50” left to play. Jared Goff, who threw 22/25 for 280 yards and 2 tries, and Jahmyr Gibbs, who ran for 116 yards, achieved a crucial success for the Division prospects, the NFC North, who now lead. The Vikings (5-1) on the last offensive possession reach almost half the field, but are unable to try the football: Sam Darnold is sacked by Trevor Nowaske.

JACKSONVILLE-NEW ENGLAND 32-16

In London, at Wembley, the Jaguars (2-5), at home in England, adopted by the public, this time know how to take the first punch without going down, demonstrating the desired character growth. They conceded the first 10 points of the match, but were able to respond by scoring 25 in a row. The man of the match is running back Tank Bigsby: he ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns. The only happy note for the Pats (1-6) is freshman quarterback Drake Maye who throws for 276 yards and 2 tries, otherwise completely dark. Coach Mayo blurts out, “We’re soft.” He has his faults. The 2-point conversion called and failed when in the 4th period his team could have gone -8, one possession away, by kicking the additional point, has no logic and takes away any hope of a comeback for New England.

other games

Green Bay (5-2) defeats Houston (5-2) 24-22 thanks to a last-second field goal by McManus, the veteran kicker, signed during the week. Cincinnati (3-4) wins 21-14 at Cleveland (1-6): the Browns lose Watson to a suspected rupture of his right Achilles tendon. At least they find running back Chubb again. Philadelphia (4-2) wins 28-3 away from the New York Giants (2-5) led by former Barkley who puts together 176 rushing yards in just 17 carries, Seattle (4-3) beats Atlanta 34-14 (4-3) dragged by the defense which forced three turnovers for the Falcons in the 4th period including a fumble reported in the end zone by Hall. Buffalo (5-2) overwhelms Tennessee (1-5) 34-10, Cooper, the Bills’ latest acquisition, receives for a touchdown, Indianapolis (4-3) beats Miami (2-4) 16-10, finding Richardson again as quarterback. Washington (5-2) continues to shine: it sweeps Carolina (1-6) 40-7, but is shaking due to Daniels’ rib injury. The Los Angeles Rams (2-4) beat Las Vegas (2-5) 20-15 thanks to two interceptions by McCollough, the Raiders lose O’Connell (right thumb). Finally on Sunday Night Pittsburgh (5-2) rages 37-15 on the New York Jets (2-5) who are not enough with the reinforcement of Adams. Wilson, in his first season as a starter, preferred to Fields, scores 3 touchdowns. Coach Tomlin was right, once again.
