Kilian Kappelmeier wins silver in Malaga – Judo TSV Munich-Großhadern

Kilian Kappelmeier took 2nd place at the Eurpean Cup in Malaga (ESP) in the -100 kg weight class and thus the Silver medal won.

After victories against the Slovenian Gal Bertlanic Zizek (Waza-ari for Yoko-gake and O-soto-gari) and Diogo Chantre from Portugal (Shime-waza), Kilian met the Swede Karl Baathe in the semi-finals. After just 40 seconds, Kilian won the fight with a successful O-soto-gari, but in the subsequent final he was clearly defeated by the Dutchman Silvan Bulthuis through an armbar and ultimately had to be satisfied with the silver medal.

Bettina Bauer started with a great Uchi-mata victory against the Portuguese Margarida Bras, but then lost in the fight for the pool victory against the eventual silver medalist Chiara Friden from Switzerland in the golden score through an ashi-waza technique and therefore had to continue fighting in the consolation round.
There she was able to make up a Waza-ari deficit against her German competitor Hanna Sedlmair and win with two Waza-ari scores. In the following fight against the Dutch Sacha Buwalda, Bettina had to accept a Waza-ari score against herself after 2:30 minutes, which she was unfortunately unable to compensate for until the end of the fight. So in the end that 7.Platz for Bettina Bauer in the strong weight class -63kg.

Next at the start for TSV Munich-Großhadern were: Severin Edmeier, Adam Toszegi, Sebastian Kaun and Franziska Neubauer.
