Kyshawn George also won the second Swiss derby of the NBA season.
Two days after winning 121-119 in Atlanta, Valais and the Wizards dominated Clint Capela’s Hawks 133-120 on Wednesday.
The two Swiss were in their team’s starting five. It was a first for ‘rookie’ Kyshawn George, who took advantage of Kyle Kuzma’s injury to move up the ranks. The winger, lined up for 32 minutes on Thursday, took the opportunity to exceed 10 points for the first time in the NBA.
George scored 11 points (with a 5/10 shooting), adding 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds to finish the game with a differential of +22. He scored his only winning basket of the evening during a 16-4 run that allowed Washington to take control at the start of the final quarter.
Clint Capela, for his part, accumulated 12 points and 5 rebounds in 24′ spent on the floor, for a differential of -15. Beaten for the third time in a row after winning their first two matches of the season, the Hawks gave in defensively by conceding 76 points in the second half.
