The seven-time Super Bowl champion was unanimously approved by NFL owners to become a minority shareholder in the Raiders. He is acquiring a five percent stake in the franchise, which he discussed with principal owner Mark Davis in 2023.
The approval came during the NFL fall meeting in Atlanta, where the vote was clear 32-0. In a statement, Brady said he was “humbled and excited” about his new role and emphasized the values of “teamwork and excellence” that both the Raiders and the city of Las Vegas embody.
Brady, who also has a 10-year, $375 million contract as an analyst with Fox, sees his new role as part of his lifelong connection to football. However, there were concerns among owners that his partnership could lead to conflicts of interest, particularly regarding access to information about other teams.
To prevent this, the NFL has restricted Brady’s access to certain team activities. He will also be bound by anti-tampering guidelines and will not be allowed to make excessive public criticism of referees or other teams. Despite these limitations, Brady remains optimistic and committed to “winning football games” as part of the team.
