(Adnkronos) – Never before had a father and son played an NBA game together, but tonight it happened: in the match against the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James and his son Bronny took the field together wearing the jerseys of Los Angeles Lakers.
The cameras captured the moment the couple is about to take the field. “Are you ready?”, the father asks his son. “Just play, don’t worry,” is LeBron’s advice, “go out there and give it a shot.” Their family was also in the stands to watch the historic event: Savannah, LeBron’s wife and Bronny’s mother, together with the couple’s other two children Bryce and Zhuri.
For Bronny, 20 years old, it was his debut in the NBA: he remained on the court for three minutes and exchanged the ball a couple of times with his father, who is in his twenty-second season in the NBA. Although they are the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time, they are the fourth overall pair in the world of American professional sports. Among the most famous is the one composed of Ken Sr. and Ken Jr. Griffey, who played in MLB baseball: the two attended the James match and took a historic photo together.
