President of Palm trees, Leila Pereira spoke again about the Botafogo and about John Textor. Interviewed by the channel “Metropolises“, the director commented on the current relationship with the North American businessman and praised the black and white club, with which it is competing for the title in the Brazilian Championship of 2024.
– We didn’t talk, I didn’t go to Nilton Santos, Palmeiras plays there, I didn’t go to those games. It is very important to be very clear that I have deep respect for the Botafogo institution, for the athletes, for the professionals. They are doing a beautiful job. The championship is very, very tight. Last year what we all witnessed happened, that’s why football is fantastic, when you think it’s one club, it’s the other – said Leila.
– If you’re in football, you have to be prepared to win and lose, I am. I win, OK, wonderful. I lose, OK, let’s be on our way. I’m not going to accuse another club because of a mistake, because that happens in life. I was very upset last year by everything that happened, by the position of the owner of Botafogo, but that’s water under the bridge. I like to look forward, I’m a woman who doesn’t look back.
