Leo Smart and Carez in the final stretch for the Las Vegas 2024 Veterans World Cup – Comodoro Deportes

Leonardo Smart and Julio Carez continue preparing to join the Argentine Judo Team that will compete in the Las Vegas 2024 World Veterans Championship, which will take place from November 4 to 7.

The competition, organized by the International Judo Federation, will have the participation of 1,485 competitors from 68 countries and will be one of the most important in the history of the category. Carez will compete in M3 -81 kilograms and Smart will compete in M4 +100 kilograms.

The Comodorians will be leaving the city on October 31 and on November 2 they will travel to the United States.

“After having participated in the South American and the Pan American, where we took podiums, we achieved qualification to compete in this World Cup. “This tournament will be one of the largest that has been held so far because there are more than 65 countries and nearly 1,500 competitors,” Smart said.

Regarding the preparation for the World Cup, he said that “we are training hard, Julio (Carez) in his dojo and I in mine with Aldana (Smart), to that I add the training in the Methodological Department with teacher Juan Carlos Manquecheo. “We are at full strength, doing everything we can to arrive in the best possible way.”

Regarding expectations, Leo Smart stated that “we hope to have good results. In my category I have approximately 18 competitors. We see it as complicated, but at the same time we are happy to have this enormous challenge for both of us.”
