Longvic: an omnisport association welcomes children from the Red Cross for a week

Throughout this week of All Saints’ Day holidays, the ALC Longvic association welcomes 12 children of the Red Crossaged 6 to 12: they will be able to practice different sporting activities such as handball, football, judo, karate or even fencing. This device is the result of a unprecedented partnership, with the Red Cross, Lidl and the French Federation of Sports Clubsand it was ALC Longvic which was chosen to experiment with this project! These 12 children are refugees, and live in a CADA (reception center for asylum seekers) in the Dijon metropolis with their parents.

A first experience for ALC Longvic, and it is a project which immediately convinced its president Gérard Genty: “We immediately said yes, I was immediately excited by this project because it completely meets our values ​​of sharing, of living together, of solidarity. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of my sections were ready to intervene to join this project and propose activities”he explains. “The objective is to take these children out of their usual environment to allow them to discover something else, and then to practice activities that they may not necessarily be used to practicing in ordinary times. was also an opportunity for me to be able to unite my sections around a common project, over a week, it was not that simple! So I think it might be the start of something.”
