+++ October 8, 2024, 10:45 a.m.: Wendell Carter Jr. extends with the Orlando Magic +++
Payday for a teammate of the Wagner brothers and Tristan da Silva! According to consistent media reports, the Orlando Magic have agreed to a new three-year contract with Wendell Carter Jr. with a total value of 60 million euros.
The center has struggled with injuries over and over again over the last two years, but when he was fit he was set as a starter. Last season he played 55 games and averaged eleven points and seven rebounds in around 26 minutes per game.
This extension could particularly be influenced by Moritz Wagner, who is mostly used as a center in the NBA. The team seems to continue to rely on Carter Jr. as a starter, leaving the German only in the backup role.
Carter Jr. was originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls with pick number 7 in 2018. In 2021, the Magic secured the services of the now 25-year-old as part of the Nikola Vucevic trade.

According to NBA insider “Shams Charania”, PJ Tucker will not be involved in the Los Angeles Clippers’ preseason at the moment, the power forward is extremely dissatisfied in the City of Angels – a trade is considered likely.
An agreement is being sought for both parties, said Charania. “PJ is a professional who has achieved much in his career and wants to achieve even more,” the Clippers said in a statement on Sunday. “We will continue to work with PJ and his representative to find the best solution for him.”
As early as February of this year, there were rumors about Tucker, who was looking for a trade due to his limited playing time with the Clippers. The 39-year-old ultimately stayed, despite flirtations with the Los Angeles Lakers and his former club Miami Heat.
Tucker came to LA as part of the James Harden trade. Last season, Tucker made 28 appearances for his Clippers with a meager 1.6 points per game.

Surprising trade in the NBA! The New York Knicks have secured the services of four-time All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, The Athletic reports. In return, his previous team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, will receive forward Julius Randle and guard Donte DiVincenzo. In addition, the Timberwolves will receive a top-13 protected first-round pick for 2025 from the Knicks.
The Charlotte Hornets also receive draft compensation.
Big man Towns was drafted first overall by the Timberwolves in 2015 and spent his entire nine-year NBA career with the team. With the trade he returns to his former coach Tom Thibodeau.
According to a league source, the 28-year-old was “stunned” by the trade since he saw himself as part of the future planning in Minnesota. In any case, he appears speechless in a tweet.
The Knicks, in turn, acquire the player they have been after for years. So they kept asking the Wolves – in vain, until now.
