Luis de la Fuente believes he doesn’t earn enough money after his Nations League and European Championship triumphs. The successful coach complained about this in an interview SER Chain at the Spanish association.
“It’s not normal for a European champion to be without a contract. I don’t know if the same thing would have happened with Luis Enrique (his predecessor; editor’s note) – for me it’s not normal for a European champion to be without a contract . I got offers, as always,” said the 63-year-old and emphasized: “I don’t know if that has ever happened in history. I have the same conditions as when I was promoted from the U21. if I had already signed the contract.”
Since his promotion from U21 coach to coach of the senior national team at the beginning of 2023, de la Fuente is still waiting for an adjustment to his working paper, which runs until 2026.
