On Saturday around 9 p.m., the Brunsbüttel Ort, Brunsbüttel Süd and Brunsbüttel Nord fire departments were alerted to a tennis clubhouse on Ostmoorer Straße in the Dithmarschen district. The building was already fully engulfed in flames when the first fire brigade arrived. Since there were too few forces available, the Averlak volunteer fire department had to be alerted.
A total of 50 firefighters were on duty. “Firefighting takes place exclusively from the outside, with massive use of breathing apparatus wearers,” says Ole Kröger, spokesman for the Brunsbüttel fire department. The reason for this is the massive smoke development. As a result, the Ostermoorer was temporarily completely closed in both directions. No one was injured in this fire.
