The meeting lasted no less than six hours and the tenability of manager Erik ten Hag‘s position was an important agenda item.
Sources tell the medium that Ten Hag ‘has not heard anything’ about the outcome of the discussion, but is assured that he will stay on for the time being. The manager therefore assumes that he will ‘just’ be on the bench for the upcoming Premier League match against Brentford.
Manchester United’s policymakers were only present at the planned crisis meeting. Co-owners Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer, CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox and INEOS director Sir Dave Brailsford, among others, joined.
Ten Hag is currently enjoying his holiday for a few days. In the meantime, the coach and his staff members have already started preparations for the match on Saturday, October 19.
The performance of the coach has been brought into question in recent weeks, particularly by the British media and Manchester United fans. The pressure on the Dutch has increased considerably.
There were rumors that Ten Hag’s future depended on the performance in the matches against Aston Villa and FC Porto. A point was scored in both matches: 0-0 and 3-3.
There is a tough schedule ahead for the Red Devils, who after Brentford at home will play against Fenerbahçe, West Ham United, Leicester City and Chelsea in the space of nine days.
