Marco van Basten has offered his services to Ajax, he revealed on Monday evening Rondo. The former striker wanted to work with Brian Brobbey to get him to score more often, but did not get the chance to do so.

The striker position will be the subject of discussion on Monday evening Rondo. Brobbey was preferred to Wout Weghorst in the away match against Heracles Almelo (3-4) on Sunday, but remained dry and saw his competitor develop into the big man with two goals.

Brobbey is mainly criticized for his big chance in the first half. The striker received a cross from the left and had the ball to tap in, but shot wide. “He doesn’t master the basic things,” Van Basten concludes.

“Brobbey just argues with everything and everyone. He should stay away from that fight. He has a lot of quality, but not enough comes out. Not enough comes out and that is a shame. He started well after his return .”

It is not the first time that Van Basten has criticized Brobbey. He also did that recently, after which the Ajax striker responded. “He said it well the other day: ‘Mr Van Basten often talks about me, so he must see something in me.’ That’s right, I see something in him too. But it doesn’t come out.”

Van Basten was more than happy to work with Brobbey. “I have offered myself,” said the former Ajax player. “I would have liked to help him, but they didn’t want that. Not him and not John van ‘t Schip. I think he (Brobbey, ed.) had no interest in me.”

Next time thanks Van Basten. “I offered it to John at the time, when it came up. Then he said: ‘Don’t do it.’ Maybe he thought I would be too hard on Brobbey? I don’t know.”

Van Basten expects that the leak will be resolved before Brobbey. “He just has to keep going, keep working hard. Brobbey will score again.”
